Refund Policy

This page explains refund eligibility, how to request a refund, when refunds may be declined, and how payments are processed through Paddle.

Terms of Service Privacy Notice
We sell through Paddle, our merchant of record. Eligible refunds are issued via Paddle to the original payment method. This policy works alongside Paddle's buyer terms and applicable consumer laws.

1. Scope & Merchant of Record

This policy covers purchases of Simple Office Tools made through Paddle. For billing questions, please include your Paddle order number (PO... or txn_...).

2. Money-Back Windows

  • New purchases: If the app does not work as described for you, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase.
  • Renewals: You may request a refund within 7 days of renewal if you did not intend to renew or the app was not used after renewal (we may ask you to deactivate the licence).

3. How to Request a Refund

Email joe@simpleofficetools.co.nz with:

  • Your Paddle order number
  • Purchase email and date
  • A brief reason for the request (helps us improve)

If eligible, we'll initiate the refund via Paddle and confirm by email.

4. Eligibility & Non-Refundable Cases

  • Requests made outside the windows above (unless required by law)
  • Evidence of licence abuse or excessive seat transfers
  • Volume or enterprise orders (for example more than 20 seats) after delivery, unless your contract states otherwise
  • Bank or FX fees, currency fluctuations, or charges not controlled by us

5. Subscriptions & Cancellations

Cancelling stops future renewals. Unless stated otherwise, we do not provide pro-rated refunds for unused time after the applicable refund window.

6. Refund Processing

Approved refunds are sent back to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider controls when funds appear (this can take several business days).

7. Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot be excluded by law (for example the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act or EU/UK consumer rights for digital content). Where such rights apply, we will honour them.
