Export a PDF to Word

Turn PDF content into a DOCX file so you can continue working in Word. This feature is in beta, and complex layouts may change.

Before you start: Use a PDF with clear text and keep the original nearby for comparison.
  1. Open the PDF

Choose Browse files, add the PDF, and use Arrange to include only the pages you need.

  2. Continue to Review & Export

Make any edits or page changes, then continue until the export choices appear.

  3. Choose Word (.docx)

Under Choose a format, select Word (.docx). The app reconstructs supported text, images and tables into an editable document.

  4. Export and check the result

Choose the export action, save the DOCX file, then open it in Word. Compare headings, tables, images and page breaks with the source PDF before relying on it.

Tip: A clean, single-column PDF usually converts more predictably than a brochure, form or tightly positioned multi-column layout.

Common questions

Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?

Not always. PDF layout is fixed, while Word content reflows. Complex positioning can change and some content may remain as images.

Can I convert a scanned PDF?

Run text recognition first. Always check recognised words and the exported Word layout.
