Rearrange pages

Move individual pages—or groups of pages—into the order you need.

Before you start: Add your files, continue to Arrange, then choose All pages under Arrange by.
Silent video · 9 seconds. Select several page cards, drag the group and drop it at the blue insertion line. Use fullscreen for a closer view.
  1. Select a page

Click a page to select it.

To select more than one page:

    • Hold Shift and click another page to select the range between them.
    • Hold Ctrl while clicking to add or remove individual pages.
    • Press Ctrl+A to select every page.

The selection count shows how many pages are currently selected.

  2. Drag the selected pages

Drag from anywhere on one of the selected page cards.

If several pages are selected, they move together and keep their current order.

A page ghost shows how many pages are being moved.

  3. Choose where they should go

    Move the pointer between pages.

A blue insertion line shows exactly where the selected page or pages will be placed.

Release the mouse to complete the move.

For longer documents, holding the pointer near the top or bottom of the page list scrolls while you drag.

  4. Undo, redo or clear the selection

Use Undo or Redo if you want to reverse or restore a page move.

When you are finished working with the selected pages, choose Clear or press Escape.

  5. Rotate or exclude selected pages

When one or more pages are selected, use the blue selection toolbar to apply actions to the whole selection.

You can rotate the selected pages or exclude them from the exported PDF.

Excluded pages appear below the included-pages divider. Choose Restore to include one again.

Excluding a page does not delete it from the original PDF.

  6. Move pages using Advanced arrange

For precise moves, use the advanced page-arranging option.

Enter the pages you want to move using page numbers or ranges, for example:

    2-5, 7-10, 14

Choose an included page as the destination, then select whether the moved pages should go Before or After it.

The selected pages keep their existing order.

The destination page cannot be one of the pages being moved.

  7. Silent video · 11 seconds. Enter a page range, choose an included destination page and move the pages after it. Use fullscreen for a closer view.
  8. Check the final order

Review the page sequence, then continue to Customise and Review & Export.

After exporting, reopen the PDF and check that the pages are in the expected order.

Tip: For large documents, move the obvious groups first, then make smaller adjustments. Advanced arrange is useful when you already know the exact page numbers you want to move.

Common questions

Can I move several pages at once?

Yes. Select them with Shift, Ctrl or Ctrl+A, then drag any selected page. The whole selection moves together.

Does excluding a page delete it from my original document?

No. Excluding a page only controls whether it is included in the PDF you export.
